At MWC Barcelona 2025, Yonsei University, the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and KT will unveil cutting-edge advancements in AI-driven semantic communication technologies. The demonstration will highlight the integration of Small Language Models (SLM) and Large Language Models (LLM) to enhance communication efficiency and inference accuracy.
This breakthrough approach leverages SLM, a lightweight model deployed at the terminal, and LLM, a more powerful model in the network. By working together, the LLM enhances the SLM’s performance, significantly improving its inference accuracy while maintaining efficiency.
Additionally, Yonsei University and SUTD will introduce an innovative token-based semantic communication system. Unlike traditional communication methods that transmit raw bits or symbols, this system focuses on conveying meaning. By prioritizing semantic accuracy over raw data transmission, this approach ensures efficient information transfer with minimal errors.
The showcase will demonstrate how AI-powered semantic communication is set to revolutionize the future of wireless networks, AI applications, and digital connectivity.
